چکیده

Introduction Image quality of MR angiography (MRA) has been substantially improved with fast three-dimensional (3D) MRA acquired during the first passage of a bolus injection of the contrast medium. For clinical evaluation of vascular disorders such as atherosclerotic obstruction (ASO) and aortic aneurysm, a long anatomic region including abdomen and lower extremities has to be imaged, Contrast enhanced MRA with an automated stepping table method can cover the entire anatomic region including the aorta and arteries in the lower legs after a single injection of the contrast medium[ 1,2]. The purpose of the current study was to evaluate clinical usefulness and limitation of 3D contrast enhanced MRA using an automated stepping table method in comparison to conventional X-ray angiography.

PERIPHERAL ANGIOGRAPHY AND ATHEROSCLEROSIS Peripheral MR Angiography

Peripheral MR Angiography is rapidly developing and becoming the standard method for evaluating peripheral vascular disease. MRA allows accurate and detailed assessment of peripheral vasculature without requiring arterial catheterization, nephrotoxic contrast, or ionizing radiation. Latest improvements in this area include time-resolved MR angiography, stepping table bolus chase 3D MR angiograp...

Dynamic contrast-enhanced MR angiography and MR imaging of the carotid artery: high-resolution sequences in different acquisition planes.

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE First-pass contrast-enhanced MR angiography has become the technique of choice for studying the carotid bifurcation, but this method has some limitations. We evaluated the clinical utility of performing 3D contrast-enhanced MR angiography in the axial plane immediately after performing angiography in the coronal plane. METHODS Cervical carotid arteries of 80 consecutive...

Head and neck paragangliomas: improved tumor detection using contrast-enhanced 3D time-of-flight MR angiography as compared with fat-suppressed MR imaging techniques.

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE MR imaging techniques have proved their efficacy in imaging the head and neck region. In this study, we compared T1-weighted, dual T2-weighted, and fat-suppressed MR imaging and unenhanced and contrast-enhanced 3D time-of-flight MR angiography sequences for detection of head and neck paragangliomas. METHODS Thirty-one patients with 70 paragangliomas were examined. Four ...

Non-contrast-enhanced MR angiography of the thoracic aorta using a whole-chest 3D steady-state with free-precession technique

Magnetic resonance angiography (MRA) is a valuable method of evaluating the thoracic aorta in a variety of clinical situations, including assessing patients with aneurysms, pseudoaneurysms, intramural hematomas, penetrating ulcerative plaques, dissections, stenoses, or congenital anomalies. Various MR techniques have been validated to assess the size and morphology of the aorta. 2 Current MRA p...

Poster Abstracts: Clinical MRI—Vascular Disease 374. Clinical Peripheral Magnetic Resonance Angiography: Comparison of Hybrid Technique Versus Sequential Stepping-Table Approach

Introduction: Lower extremity contrast enhanced peripheral MR Angiography (pMRA) is used routinely to triage patients with peripheral vascular disease to percutaneous intervention or surgery.A sequential stepping-table 3-station technique (bolus-chase) is routinely used for pMRA, risking either poor enhancement of run-off vessels or venous contamination. Purpose: The purpose of our study was to...
